Hi Flegb,

I think Voices of the Void is an incredible project, and Mr. Dr. Nose is doing a fantastic job. However, it's important to remember that he not invented radiotelescopes or aliens. Like most games, mine is inspired by various sources, including Voices of the Void—which itself seems to draw inspiration from Signal Simulator. Drawing inspiration is perfectly fine as long as we respect intellectual property.

The primary inspirations for my game, in order of importance, are:

  • Gemini Home Entertainment
  • Junji Ito
  • Contact
  • War of the Worlds
  • Voice of the void and many more...

My connection to Voices of the Void is that I admired its cover art, which is quite similar to the Signal Simulator cover art as well. I thought it beautifully captured the portrayal of aliens and space, which resonated with my own game that also features an antenna. I didn't set out to copy it; I just liked the aesthetic and decided to give it a try.

The story of my game centers on a radio broadcaster playing music for a town during an alien invasion. If there's a stronger influence on my work, it would be Gemini Home Entertainment. I believe that inspiration is a natural part of the creative process, and I’m passionate about creating my own works based on the games, books, and films that have influenced me.

Cheers,
Eduardo

While VOTV is great, it's mostly brainrot for furries. I myself would love a more serious, and updated game akin to Signal Simulator.

Great game btw! Looking forward to what else you come up with!

votv is good, but as a game dev myself I have to agree with the author/dev being inspired and copying are two different things. Silent rail was 'inspired' by silent hill but the only thing similar in it is the fog.... I think the dev has done a brill job, and name dropping votv seems to be a bit harsh.

shitty voices of the void ripoff and you know it

Who knew happy smiley faces in the complete darkness would be so damn creepy. Excellent horror game with a cool concept, nailed the atmosphere and sound aspect of things and I personally love the visual style you went for. Also, really nice voice acting which always makes the experience better. Didn't have time to go after all 3 endings but this was very enjoyable (and unsettling) regardless, so excellent job developer!

Joginho muito bom! E pouco tempo criou uma bom do que o inesperado.

Could not figure out how to "sintonize radio"

Whilst I was kind of late to the party- I did enjoy this game as much as possible. Even though the sounds were pretty high.
But there was creepiness which got me on my toes for my first playthrough. At least I gave the achievements a try and got them all!

you're telling me there is achievement my OCD cant

Mine couldn't handle it either since there are a total of 6..
That's why I tried to get them all. Steam helps with finding them.

Great work! - All Endings

Levei uns bons sustos! E adorei a estética!

Good Job

This game has great atmosphere! I'm especially a fan of how the music is integrated into the gameplay.  The voice acting was great, and the story was very easy to get wrapped into.  Keep up the good work!

Good story with a nice Eerie atmosphere. It was well written and had some cool aspects about it. Thumbs up.

I made a video of some gameplay if you'd like to see.

Really enjoyed this one, I'm looking forward to what more you make! There was a little bit of a 'war of the worlds' vibe going on with the radio voice acting, and I enjoyed the plot! I got the 'good' end, still need to get the other(s). I feel like I was anticipating a few more scares around the open window/radio room, but it was fun!

Incredibly well designed short horror piece, I could feel lots of influences that were all weaved together to create something unique and terrifying, the final scare made my soul leave my body, loved it!

Really fantastic short horror game! Love the multiple endings and the whole atmosphere of the game! Awesome job looking forward to seeing what you make in the future!

Fantastic game! Was a lot of fun and very stylish :) at first the plot reminded me of hellstar remina by junji ito but i wonder if that was just a coincidence:) I liked the story although my only complaint is the monster design, i realize its just an indie project so i don't mind that much!

Thank you!!
I actually really love Junji Ito's art, but I've never heard of "Hellstar Remina," and my inspiration came more from "Gemini Home Entertainment." Thank you for letting me know about this Junji Ito piece—I will definitely read it!

you definitely should! I love ito’s work and it just reminded me of it a little at first, the story does get a bit fantastical towards the end lol but it’s really good! Great work, can’t wait to see more of your games!
