great

It's true that the concept is superficial, but the gameplay is captivating and makes you play for houres without even realizing it. It's worth giving it a try

Fun "Horror" game! I could definitely see myself play this for some hours just because of the interesting rogue-like gameplay!

cool game

Little Apple

Great game! really like the vibes and the puzzle works well, though it's a bit easy to get incredible points by prioritizing olives. I noticed a glitch - when i sold an item it didn't give me an extra space and said my table was still full.

Nice game! I saw the trailer on steam and the free looking fells better than the 90º  view in the demo. Other 2 things I don't know if you are planning, but I didn't saw in the demo: a way to increase a specific food value, and maybe more deckbuilder thing, like a deck that you can change, adding or removing the amount of each food. Anyway, nice demo, wishlisted on steam!

what happened to the game? this is not the version i played a bit ago. it feels so sluggish and awkward now.

Hi! Sorry to hear that! What are your main complains?

(1 edit) (+1)

Let's see.

I don't like that all the dialogue is gone. I really liked the guy talking about "bentos" and inserting random french. It had a unique charm.

I REALLY don't like that you can no longer freely look around and are stuck to turning 90 degrees, it feels rigid and uncomfortable. Idk if you were trying to make the game feel more claustrophobic, but it does, but it also feels less like I am actually in the game since I have no freedom of movement.

I don't like the objects just levitating in the void as the "shop". I know you wanted to make the game look more unique (because the last one was so similar to CloverPit), but the old one worked way better. Something about the way they are now lacks visual clarity and them just spinning in an empty space feels unfinished (they are not presented in any aesthetic way. I think it would be better if they were on plates, or hanging from hooks...). Also I find the restock lever kind of hard to notice on this version - I think some people could miss it easily.

Smaller nitpicks:

I don't like the little "whoosh" thing you added, it makes the scoring take even longer. Though I guess I can try speeding up the game. Haven't tried that yet. Maybe I will get used to it.

I kind of don't like that the dark square background was removed from the ingredients. I think it would look better if the black square bg was kept and you changed the color of the "aura" around it to a dark red or something similar. This one is just a nitpick.

Just feels like a lot of these changes made everything come off more sluggish and unfinished.

Hey, thank you a lot for the feedbacks!
The dialogues are a bit weird because I didn't removed, but I will see this to. Really apreciate the feedbacks!

mama kak 😛 peak

Fun game but the textures for the food kept breaking and my game crashed multiple times

I'VE NEVER MADE A BENTO BEFORE IN MY LIFE AND HOW DID I EVEN GET MYSELF STUCK INTO THIS SITUATION?! Youtube Link -

This was so fun & addicting <3 I didn't wanna stop playing LMAO
(1 edit)

This is extremely fun! My first completion was by spamming olives and full bento retriggers, getting nearly 3 times the required score with only the first bento every round! Looking forward to the full game!

This game is soooo addicting. I love it

I love this game.

It was easy to understand but hard to master. I beat it by acquiring the piggy bank early on and selling it after a few rounds, using the coins to buy large plates in the later rounds. Plus, the moldy bread item was excellent.

I really look forward to seeing this game update. Keep up the great work.

food

Cloverpit but with food instead of gambling. Nice.

https://imgur.com/a/Mj0QHNJ gotta love pickles and olives

lets freaking go my suggestion of declining a chef's special got in

can we get the same for modifiers?

Detected by Windows Defender as a virus automatically

It always does that to all games. Just go around i

I was downloading around five other itchio games and none of them got flagged. I know Windows can ask you if you are sure to execute programs of unknown source, but that is not the same as both your browser and Windows Defender refusing to even downloading it because they detect it like a virus.

This depends on the game and which engine was used, as well as how the game was exported. I can guarantee you that this is not a virus, but if you still prefer to be safe, you should download it from Steam

Thanks

*Spoilers*

would be cool if you could actually escape by stuffing him with too much bento, like, in the last round i  made a bento good enough to feed him for the entire run and with 6 bento left, and he still felt the necessity to eat me.
What a ungrateful guy.

Hey there Mr.Srcarpato loved ur game so much I made an itch.io account. If I ever get the money for ur game I will definitely buy it. And here's the best Bento I've made so far. Enjoy the meal

Haha, thank you very much, TopperX <3 That’s definitely a big bento!

Hey, can you add a thing to discard the food you're holding? This has held me up on a lot of runs.

Hi!
This will be implemented in a future update of the demo I'm planning to release, probably next week. Thanks for the feedback!

Merci beacoup, chef!

everyone check out my new game its really sick and cool new geometry dash 1.67777777

I really like this game, both in gameplay and style. It's super cool, (the Customer gives big Leshy Inscryption or the Dealer from Buckshot Roulette energy lol)

There are a few things about the game balance I would like to note, I hope it's helpful :3 (I played for 45 minutes, beat the game and unlocked most items. But there might still be things I missed.)

There currently seems to be no reason to use bigger/more complicated ingredients like Beef, Bacon or Baguettes over small ingredients like Olives or Pickles. There are a few way I suggest, that could fix this:

  • Limiting how many ingredients can be used in a Bento Box, forcing the players to use the bigger/more complicated ingredients if they want to fill the whole box
  • Making the bigger/more complicated pices worth more than the smaller ones, e.g. making the Olive (1 square) worth 1 point and the Baguette (4 squares) worth 8 points. This could also be used to encourage the weirder shaped ingredients like Beef, Bacon and Pepper
  • Employing a deckbuilder type system where the player has a limited amount of each ingredient (e.g. 2 of everything), so they can't just spam the same ingredient over and over.

I thought the items were fine, just lacking in variety (but that's understandable since it's a demo). I was stumped by the wording at times on items like Miser's Fingers; "Whenever you get X or more bonuses from a single plating:", since I didn't fully understand what a "plating" was. I assumed it was whenever you put an ingredient down, but Six Fingers?  made that seem unlikely, since getting 6 bonuses from one piece is (I think ?) impossible. Another small thing was that I was initially confused on if Glutton's Ring was permanent, for the round or for the Bento Box, though that could just be me being dumb (something like: Gives +1 Multiplier permanently would clear any confusion, though).

A small final nitpick is that if you reach the goal score with Bento Boxes remaining, the game seems to progress to the next round without giving you any compensation (like additional points, extra Bento Boxes next round or the letting you play the round out) leaving you at a disadvantage for playing too well (which might be intentional, but it seemed silly).

Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this game, even if it is quite small right now. And I hope this feedback is helpful. Sorry, if what I wrote is unnecessarily longwinded, but I hope you appreciate it.

And if you need help playtesting in the future I would love to help out if possible :3 (discord: isucunei)

Thank you, IsuCunei!
I love feedback <3 I will make sure to keep yours in mind

Weird, game is failing to launch on my thinkpad, and I have an Nvidia GPU
